Christmas Party Games To Get Your Office Party Started!
Everyone loves a good party game, especially at Christmas time. They’re a great way to break the ice and to keep the fun going throughout the evening. From relays to wrap offs, guessing games to jumper competitions – we’ve got you covered for Christmas inspiration!
Gift Wrapping Games
Gift Wrap Up
Have your guests divide into pairs. Tie one person’s right hand to their teammate’s left hand. The team will then have to try to wrap a gift using their free hands! Best gift wrapped present wins!
Wrap Race
Hand out boxes, wrapping paper, ribbon, sellotape and scissors. The fastest person to gift wrap their box wins, with extra points given for style!
Dress-Up Games
The Human Christmas Tree
Divide your group into two or three teams and nominate one person on each team to act as the Tree. Each team will attempt to decorate each “tree” with different Christmas decorations provided for the game in a set amount of time!
Toilet Paper Snowman
Group staff into pairs – one player plays the role of the snowman while the other is the wrapper. Pass out rolls of toilet paper to each team and whoever wraps up their snowman from head to toe the quickest wins!
Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest
When you send the party invitations, encourage guest to wear their ugliest Christmas sweater. A panel of judges votes on Ugly Sweater, Uglier Sweater and Ugliest Sweater, with awards to the top three winners!
Races/Physical Games
Gift Relay
This game requires at least two teams with an equal number of participants. Set up two tables per team about 20 feet apart with an equal amount of players at each table. Place five gifts on each table. One team member grabs a gift and carries it across the room to the other table. The next team member will stack a second gift onto the first gift and head back across the room to hand their stack to the third team member. This continues until a team has successfully stacked and carried all 10 gifts across the room, without dropping any.
Ornament & Spoon Race
Split into teams, setup a relay course with or without obstacles. With an ornament on their spoon, the first person will go through the course and return to pass it on. You can only use your spoons when passing the ornament. If someone ever drops the ornament, that person needs to do the course again. Once the ornament is successfully passed off, it’s the next person’s turn until everyone has completed the course.
Penguin Waddle
Separate into teams and set up cones 15 to 25 feet apart for each team. The first player puts a balloon between their knees and waddles like a penguin down to the cone and back. Then they pass the balloon to the next team member so they can go. If any team member drops the balloon, they have to restart! The first team to complete the relay wins.
Christmas Scavenger Hunt
Before the party, hide Christmas-themed items around the party room. Once everyone has arrived, hand out cards with a photo of all the items the hunters must find. The player who finds the most items is the winner. This works brilliant for 12 Pubs of Christmas themed parties!
Christmas Balloon Pop
Have inflated red and green balloons ready for everyone, and tie one to the ankle of each employee. The goal of the game is to burst other player’s balloons by stomping on them while guarding one’s own balloon. Once a balloon pops that player is out. The winner is the one left with the only unpopped balloon.
Christmas Carol Limbo
Do the limbo to Christmas carols. Decorate your pole so it looks festive, with garlands or lights.
Trivia/Guessing Games
Christmas Guess Who
Before the party date, ask employees to bring in a photo of them as a child at Christmastime. Label with a number and post on a wall in the party room. Employees write down their guesses, and the person with the most correct answers is the winner.
Two Truths and a Lie
You can transform this classic into a Christmas game by asking players to think of three Christmas gifts. Two of the Christmas gifts must be gifts that the participant has actually received and one of the gifts is a lie. One participant announces their three gifts in a random order and the other players then try to guess which Christmas gift is a lie.
Holiday A-Z
Distribute papers with the alphabet written vertically on each paper. Teams must then compete to fill in the entire alphabet list with a holiday word for each letter. The first team to complete their list wins. Have a judge check the winning team’s list and make sure the words qualify as holiday words. If their list isn’t accurate, check the list from the second fastest team.
Name That Carol
Print out this list of lyrics and song titles. Distribute a list of the lyrics to each team or individuals if there aren’t enough people for teams. Then have each team (or person) guess the song title. Whomever guesses the most correct answers wins.
Christmas Charades
Play this classic game by using names of Christmas carols or other Christmas-related words.
