Guidelines for Dining at Paddy’s Bar & Restaurant During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The new systems and procedures described below are required under the Fáilte Ireland guidelines and will take time to adjust to. While they are not always favourable to the best dining experience they are in place for the safety of staff and customers. They may need to be adapted on an ongoing basis as guidelines change and as we learn what will work and what won’t.
Please be considerate of the staff and of other customers during this uncertain time while we adjust and improve on an ongoing basis.
If you are feeling unwell, have recently travelled from an affected area or been in contact with a suspected case of COVID-19, we ask that you do not come into the restaurant for the safety of yourself, our staff and our other customers.
The time limit placed on bookings and social distancing restrictions we must adhere to have meant we will be operating at a much reduced capacity. We are unlikely to have availability for walk-ins during this time so please book your table in advance to avoid disappointment.
The current regulations require customers to wear masks on entering the restaurant until seated, on moving around the restaurant to the bathroom and again on exiting.
We will have a one way system in place to allow for social distancing. Please enter through the front door only, not through the garden or side doors.
When exiting we ask that you exit via the side entrance.
Unfortunately, due to government guidelines, we are restricted to just 105 minutes per booking.
In order to be fair to all guest bookings and to maximise your dining time, please ensure you arrive on time as the time restriction will apply from the start time of booking, not the time of arrival. If you arrive 30 minutes late you will have just 75 minutes remaining for your meal.
This rule must be in place to allow all bookings to be accommodated and to prevent any congregation of customers waiting for tables as there will be no bar area for customers to wait.
In order to facilitate contact tracing in the event of a suspected case of COVID-19 we are required to take the name and contact information of one person in your group. This information will be stored for up to 1 month. We will also ask this person to maintain the contact information of the other members of the group for 1 month.
In order to ensure social distancing, guests must remain seated during their stay, except when using the bathrooms.
Guests will not be permitted to move between tables or go to the bar as table service only will be in operation. Your food, drink and bill will all be brought to you by your server.
The restrictions in place will mean a number of changes to the dining experience.
For example, placemats and menus must be disposable paper and there will be no side plates, salt and pepper or condiments on your table – these are available on request from your server.
Our menu will be restricted to items that our kitchen can produce while maintaining social distancing – meaning some of your favourites might temporarily be absent and we may not be able to accommodate some dietary requests. We will still provide top quality food and as much variety as possible!
Please maintain a distance of 2 metres from other customers and staff members for the duration of your stay.
Please remember to practice good hand hygiene and coughing and sneezing etiquette.
Hand sanitiser stations will be available at all entrances and exits and at various points throughout the restaurant.
Thank you for your co-operation during this uncertain time. We hope to resume normal dining as soon as possible and abiding by these restrictions now will hopefully make that possible sooner rather than later.
